Christmas brings together millions of people around the world, many with unique traditions. From hanging ornaments with family to Christmas light drives, our school celebrates the holidays in many different ways.
During the holiday season, especially after taking a lot of finals, the best way to relax is in cozy Christmas pajamas. From the classic red plaid to pajama pants to pajamas covered in tiny reindeer, Christmas pajamas are the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Sophomore Izzy Gusmus says that her favorite Christmas tradition is, “wearing matching pajamas with [her] family on Christmas Eve.”
Another great way to celebrate is by spending time with family. Whether that’s the sophomore Emilia Skoog’s favorite family holiday pastime, “Cooking dinner together,” or sophomore Kayden James’ favorite, “playing Christmas games together,” any time spent with family is one of the best ways to spend your time over the holidays.
What better way to spend a cold Christmas night than going on a carriage ride. Sophomore Selah Williams goes on a carriage ride every year and it’s one of her favorite ways to ring in the season. Furthermore, when the weather outside is frightful, the best way to cozy up is to make a nice, hot cup of cocoa and watch your favorite Christmas movie. Sophomore Lydia Yohannes says that, “[her] favorite Christmas tradition is watching home alone with [her] cousins every year.”
Last but not definitely not least, one of the most memorable ways to celebrate is to travel. Whether it is somewhere tropical or somewhere even colder than Colorado, a vacation half way through the school year is always a great idea.
No matter where or how you spend your Christmas vacation this year, make sure you keep your mind set on the purpose of Christmas and spread the love of God wherever you go.
