The Class of 2026 had a very successful lip sync for Homecoming this year. Lutheran High School has an opportunity for students to participate in a lip sync battle between classes as a final hurrah to Homecoming week. Michael Crandall, the Junior Student Council Representative, helped gather all the music and submit requests. He also helped spread the word about lip sync so more students could get involved, creating the amazing group that performed last week.
Sadie Hixson really enjoyed this fun occasion and, “everyone in the group became a lot closer with each other.” The lip sync allows students to use their creativity in a safe environment. Sadie explained that she “really enjoyed getting to help make the signs, it was a lot of fun getting to paint them.”
All four lip sync groups don’t end up meeting together until a week before Homecoming. Students made it a priority to carve time out of their schedules to ensure that this show would happen. There are most likely going to be some challenges and bumps in the road when
preparing for a performance like this. Sadie elaborates that, “we had to come up with a whole new idea for the music.” The Junior group used an obstacle they had overcome to make their storyline even better than it was previously.
The Juniors had a hilariously planned skit of ‘Princesses Got Talent”, each song being performed by a ‘princess’ wishing to win the heart of one of the judges. This included “When Will My Life Begin?” by Mandy Moore and lip synced by Olivia May, “Part of Your World” by Jodi Benson and performed by Tori Dewitt, and “Love is an Open Door” by Kristen Bell and Santino Fontana and sung by Sadie Hixson and Michael Mckinnis, among other songs
